many many thanks Trevor, just arrived back today. Three nights, fantastic weather, and just so much to do and see you are right, there are very few cities around today, as good as York. But I do also recommend a visit to Chester as well, if you like York, you will love Chester to.

My wife and I’ve been to York twice, first as a day trip in 2007 then for a four day stay last year around Easter. It wasn’t long enough believe me !!
Friendly people, great pubs selling great ale, fantastic restaraunts “catering” to all “tastes”, you must try the exhibition Hotel on Bootham, really welcoming. Didn’t get to see everything so we’re coming back again this year and we can’t wait. Just wish our home town of Bolton was half as good as York, and coming from a Lancastrian that’s high praise indeed.

I do not have any intentions on going back to York with you, we have been enough times and there is nothing else to see. You must know the city inside out, you can go back if you want I will not stop you.

Thanks emm nice to know you care. Yes you are right I do love York it has a special place in my heart. And yeah we should holiday in York every year. Slight error emm it is my third home after crowborough and Eastbourne. Roll on our next break.

I know how much you like this beautiful city, everytime we want to go away you always mention York, I think you probably should move there as it seems to be your second home.

I tell you York is a cracking city so much history and entertainment to offer you, I sometimes wish i could move their I love the city so much. I did not know about that Nick, you learn something new every day thanks for that.

If anyone is wondering whether New York was named after York, the answer would be "not quite". It was actually named after King James II when he was the Duke of York. (Wikipedia).
