By Mark on September 7, 2009

I have decide to head through to the capital city of Russia, Moscow in English and Москва in Russian. This city is not just the largest in Russia, but it happens that the metropolitan area of Moscow is the third largest in Europe and the urban area ranks well in the largest arfeas in the world.
This city is quite familiar to the western cities of London, Paris, Madrid, Berlin and Washington in the way it is a Moscow is a major political, economic, cultural, religious, financial, educational, and transportation centre of Russia and the world,it is a global city. Moscow is also known as a megacity has it is the seventh largest city in the world with a population taken on 1 June 2009, being 10,524,400.

When you meet the citizens of these cities, they often appear to be known as a part of the city for example here in Moscow they arde known as Muscovite in English, Moskvich in Russian. Also due to a long history, the city has earned new nicknames like The Third Rome, Whitestone, The First Throne, The Forty Forties.
Moscow is situated on the Moscow River within the Central Federal District in the European part of Russia. It has also been the former capital city of the former Soviet Union, Russian Empire, Tsardom of Russia and the Grand Duchy of Moscow. This is where you will find some of Russia and Moscow’s amazing sites like, the Moscow Kremlin, wjhich has now become one of the Worlds Heritage Sites and it is where the President of Russia lives. Also within the city you will find the Russian parliament, the State Duma, the Federation Council and the Government of Russia also sit in Moscow.
Finally, being a major economic centre this city hosts one of the largest amounts of billionaires in the world.
