Virtual-Tripping explores the Croatian capital city of Zagreb.
By Mark on September 21, 2009
This is the Croatian capital city of Zagreb it is the largest and the most populated city within Croatia. It has a estimated population taken in 2008 of 804,200 and the larger metropolitan population was around 1.2 million people in 2008. This city is packed with culture, economic’s, science and this is where the Croatian government works. Zagreb is a well known city all over the world, it is situated between the southern slopes of the Medvednica mountain and both northern and southern bank of the Sava river.
Because of where Zagreb is position within Croatia, it is on the Pannonian Basin and it then extends further towards pine, Dinaric, Adriatic and Pannonic regions, this means it is in a perfect position for traffic to travel to and throw, through Croatia and Central Europe and the Adriatic Sea. Now because of this scenario, it means that Zagreb really had to be the best place to grow into the capital city. I mentioned earlier that it is the seat of the central government, administrative bodies and almost all government ministries. Plus the city has also become the leading place for economics ie transport connections, concentration of industry, scientific and research institutions and industrial tradition within Coatia.
It really is a beautiful city from what I have seen and learn’t on Wikipedia and Panoramio, this is a place I would seriously consider visiting in the future. It is also a great place for holiday makers and families with so much to do and see, you will be lost for words. There’s the catherdral, Zagros mountains of Iran, Sava river, Archeological Museum, Croatian Natural History Museum, Museum of Technology, Museum of the City of Zagreb, Arts and Crafts Museum, Croatian National Theater, pop-music festival, Šalata(Sports and Recreational Center), Dražen Petrović Basketball Hall, Zagreb Arena, Maksimir Stadium and loads loads more.
