Virtual-Tripping continues on towards Legoland, Windsor, Berkshire, England,UK.
By Mark on November 20, 2009
Virtual-Tripping likes to explore the world and it’s contents and we also like to find fascinating and interesting themes to work on. This post is about 1of 4 Legolands in the world, this one is in Windsor, the county is Berkshire and we are in England. As you can imagine this is a theme park for children and families and there is plenty to do and see. Legoland is a very popular place to visit and the other three theme parks are Legoland Billund in Billund, Denmark, Europe, Legoland Deutschland in Günzburg, Germany, Europe and Legoland California in Carlsbad, California, USA.

The parks have been based on the Lego toys which as a kid i used to play and build alot with. But to my surprise I have never visited Legoland in Windsor, but have been told it is an excellent place to visit. Legoland in Windsor was the second of the four to open and this park began in 1996 on the grounds of what was back then Windsor Safari Park, Denmark were the first to build their theme park in 1964, with the U.S.A in 1999 and Germany in 2002.

This park is actually the fourth most popular of theme parks in England and the age range is normally from two years to twelve years of age, but it does not really matter because all are welcome and everyone is really a big kid. The park is now being operated by Merlin Entertainments. The other three big theme parks in England are Pleasure Beach Blackpool, Alton Towers and Thorpe Park.
Finally as you can imagine all of the parks are based on the same types of themes which are mixture of Lego-themed rides, Lego models, and Lego building workshops. But for the young adventurer there is more to this than meets the eye. You can see dinosaurs, dragons, pirates and more, what an adventure.

Interesting. I knew of the Legoland in Denmark, but didn’t realize there was one in England. I vaguely remember TV commercials for Windsor Safari Park. Shame that closed down, but I guess Legoland is a good replacement. Maybe we could go up there when we visit. I’m sure little Ricky would love it.
