Virtual tripping around one of the most amazing cities in the world, Hiroshima, Japan.

By Mark on August 13, 2009

This post is all about the city of Hiroshima in the southern part of Japan. This city has become famous for her tradegy that happened towards the end of World War II in the august of 1945. What happened was so disasterous, that many japanese people died, some in the most horrific ways possible. What actually happened was that the americans wanted to stop the war as quick as possible, so they with the permission of the then U.S.A president, Harry H Trueman decided with american government to drop the atomic bomb on Japan and her two cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It did the trick and stopped the japanese army who surrendered on the 15th august 1945. But the after effects lasted for many years, killing and disfunctering peoples bodies.
The Japanese city of Hiroshima happens to be the capital of the Hiroshima Prefecture, and the largest city in the Chūgoku region of western Honshū, the largest island of Japan.
Did you know that Hiroshima was the first ever city to be subjected to nuclear warfare. Hiroshima gained municipality status on April 1, 1889, and was designated on April 1, 1980, by government ordinance. The city’s current mayor is Tadatoshi Akiba.

I’ve been to Hiroshima three times, once with you in fact, so we’ve both seen the horrors within the memorial museum.

The justification that the atomic bombs were used to end the war quickly, thus saving lives is a fallacy. The bombings were a warning to the Soviet Union so they wouldn’t enter the war.

What happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki should be condemned as horrendous war crimes which any American should be ashamed of. That’s not to say the Japanese weren’t guilty of their own atrocities, but their leaders were hanged for their crimes, not celebrated.

Well said bro, I do agree that it was horrific, especially in that museum, still can see those horrible pictures drawn by children of adults and families fleeing the cities and some not making it. I still remember seeing the hair and nails of some of the dead, it was disgusting.

But do remember what the Germans did to the jews in those awful camps that was just has disgusting to. Also remember what the japanese did to the british, by making them starve and sticking them in small cages, shooting them and hanging them it was all disgusting. No one deserved to win or lose as everyone was has bad as each other.

War is WRONG! STOP the fighting in Afghanistan and certain parts of Pakistan and the world should stop provoking countries like Russia, Iran and South Korea. Thanks for the comments Nick.

By that childish logic, 9/11 was justified by U.S meddling in the Middle-East.
