This is the city of Copenhagen, Denmark, Europe, Part 2.

By Mark on November 2, 2009

What do people see when visiting the Danish capital city Copenhagen. Apart from seeing the town centre and the river lakes which go through the city and some well known building’s like the Old Stock Exchange, the City Hall and the Royal Opera House, Copenhagen has parks and two of these parks are the oldest two amusement parks in the world.
These parks are the World-famous Tivoli Gardens and the pleasure garden which you will find on the right in middle of Copenhagen between the City Hall Square and the Central Station. You will of course find that some of the rides are also very old like roller coaster and the oldest ferris wheel. To find out more about these parks, please refer to wikipedia.

If you ever get the chance to visit this city, you will find some top class Michelin star restaurants, which makes Copenhagen the city with most Michelin stars in Scandinavia. Also this city is becoming well known for it’s food, locally and internationally. Because of this you will find some high rated restaurants, sandwich bars, coffee shops and pubs, with traditional and international cusine. I have learn’t that the best known Danish dish is the Pålæg and smørrebrød, which are open sandwiches. But of course the most popular cusine known world wide is the one and only Danish Pastry, which are found all over the city in bakeries, coffee shops, hotels, restaurants etc. So you can not leave copenhagen or Denmark without trying a Danish Pastry. If you are going to try a pastry, then do not forget to try a Danish Beer, the most well known of all is Carlsberg.

There are plenty of things to do within this city, Museums, theatres, pubs, clubs, historic buildings and modern buildings, shops, boat rides, cycle rides, bus or coach tours, National galleries, supermarkets, musical and cultural events, as well as concerts, firework displays and local entertainment. It maybe a coldish country, but the people are warm at heart. Again to learn and find out more about Copenhagen please refer to the link at the bottom of this post.
