This is my virtualtrip around Washington, the capital city of the U.S.A.

By Mark on August 10, 2009

Hey guys this is me virtualtripping around the city of Washington in the district of Columbia in the north-east of the United States of America. I have never been there before and wondered what it would be like to explore this capital and great city.
So here we go.
Did you know that Washington was actually removed from the western part of Washington Territory. which had been ceded by Britain in 1846 by the Oregon Treaty as settlement of the Oregon Boundary dispute.
Washington joined the union in 1889 and became the forty-second state of the U.S.A.
In 2008 the United States Census Bureau estimated the state’s population was 6,549,224.
Did you also know that Washington was the only state that has ever been named after an american president in the name of George Washington. Also Washington is often called Washington state so that it can be distinguished from the District of Columbia. Finally the locals will often refer to their home town as Washington, Washington D.C or just D.C.
You can always refer to Wikipedia to learn more about Washington.
