This is a post about Kensington Palace it is the home to members of the royal family they include the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester; the Duke and Duchess of Kent; and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. The palace is also home to Prince Harry, as well as his cousin Zara Phillips, but that is on an unofficial basis, where as the others are all officially staying at the palace.
You will find kensington palace in the kensington gardens, which is within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in London, England. The British Royal Family have been staying at the palace since the 17th century.

The palace was created in kensington as i have said in the 17th century, it was because the then king of England, William III, was asthmatic and so kensington palace which was then known as Nottingham House and belonged to Earl of Nottingham. Back then kensington was a suburban village located on the outside London. That mean’t that it was not as smoky as being in central London.
There were three famous women who lived at this palace they were, Diana, Princess of Wales who was married to Prince Charles, Princess Margaret who was the queen’s sister and Princess Alice who was married to Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester.
All until there deaths between 1997 and 2004.

The Royal Family like to open certain building’s up to the public, to make some money for their charities and to show the world public the british history. The independent charity Historic Royal Palaces, is a nonprofit organisation that does not recieve any funding from the public, but they have been given permission to open the State Rooms at kensington palace. If you would like to visit the palace the nearest tubes are in Queensway, Bayswater, High Street Kensington, or (slightly further) Gloucester Road, or you can go by bus or car if you would like to.

Finally for certain reasons you are not entitled to go into every room or private office as it is the responsibility of the Royal Household and are maintained by the Royal Household Property Section.
But there is so much to learn and see at kensington palace and kensington it’self. So give it a try.
