This is Alton Towers theme park, Alton, Staffordshire, England, UK, Part 1.

Welcome to Alton Towers it is a theme park and resort which is found in the grounds of a former stately home in Staffordshire, England. It has to be one of the biggest and visited theme parks within England. It has attracted people from all over the world and yearly there is an estimated amount of 2.8 million visitors each year. Alton Towers is on the list of major theme parks and it is the 11th most visited place in Europe.

Considering that Alton is a very small village it really does very well to cope with the amount of tourists. But it’s nearest large city is Stoke on Trent. The park it’self is based in the north of Alton in Staffordshire it is approximately 16 miles or 26 km east of Stoke-on-Trent. When you arrive at Alton Towers you may be surprised, as it is placed in the grounds of a semi-ruined gothic revival country house of the same name and for you historians out there it was the former seat of the Earls of Shrewsbury.

There are plenty of places to stay in Alton and also you have on the site it’self The Alton Towers Hotel and Splash Landings Hotel. You also have the Alton Towers Waterpark (Cariba Creek), Extraordinary Golf, Conference Centre and The Alton Towers Spa (Located in the Alton Towers Hotel). Alton Towers happens to be the main attraction ofthe business company Merlin Entertainments. There are plenty of places to park, because there are 11 car parks around the area.
Now when visiting Alton Towers, you must rty and go on the major attractions like the Nemesis, Europe’s first inverted roller coaster, the Oblivion, the world’s first vertical drop roller coaster, Air, the world’s first B&M flying roller coaster and finally Rita – Queen of Speed, a launched roller coaster which accelerates to 100 km/h (60 mph) in approximately 2.2 seconds. Finally for all you music lover’s the main promotional music is, In the Hall of the Mountain King,, which was created by Edvard Grieg was a Norwegian composer and pianist who composed in the Romantic period. The music was on the television ads in the 1990′s advertising Alton Towers.
