The wonderful country of Northern Ireland, U.K

This is my post of one of the countries from the British Isles, Northern Island. This country is a unit of the United Kingdom, it compromises of six counties of Ulster.
This country is situated north to north-east of mainland Ireland. It is suppose to be a south-westward extension of Scotland and it is separated by the north channel of the Irish sea.
Different types of rock, from various ages are covered by glacial gravels and boulder clay they help to make up the country of Northern Ireland.
There is very little mineral wealth here and if it was not for the soils, that are mainly fertile, then there would be very little life. Northern Ireland is a very cold country with plenty of rainfull annually.
But in the summer months the temperatures do warm up to mid twenties and above in celsius.
In the west the Sperrin Mountains and in the east there are the Antrim Hills.
These areas are separated by the River Bann that drains the Lough Neagh to the north.
In the south-east of the country are the Mourne Mountains and over to the south-west lies the Lough Erne.

Like alot of European countries at this moment in time November 2008, Northern Ireland is fighting to stay out of recession?. Alot of the population now employed in the service sector and agriculture. In the agricultural profession, Northern Ireland produces barley and potatoes as well as raising sheep and cattle. But the engineering and chemical industries are moving forward. Even now there was a shipbuilding and linen industries have been reclining over the years, it still is important to the Irish.

The history of Northern Ireland dates back to 1920 when it was established as a self-governing province of the United Kingdom from the government of Ireland Act after alot of pressure was put on the Irish government from the protestant population. In the 1960’s alot of problems occurred in the economic and electoral government as the protestants were demanding that the catholics were discriminating against them.
Causing decades of the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
There have been many disputes within the country and many battles between Provisional Irish Republican Army and Loyalist militant organizations such as Ulster Defence Force (UDA) and the Ulster Volunteer Association (UVF). In 1969 the British forces were to enter in to Northern Ireland at the rquest of the Stormont Government, so they could keep the peace.
In 1972 the British government suspended the Northern Irish constitution and dissolved the Stormont government. Then the British took on the Irish province from London, England. Many many fights and disputes continued for many years.

Ok Mum, no i have not and i certainly will do, i am quite impressed with my pictures even the cheeky train station, that is named Adelaide station in Belfast, cool hey.
