The Sunny side of Turkey

By Mark on February 20, 2009

This is a post about Turkey mainly in Asia, but the far west of the country is within the south-east of Europe. Ankara is the capital city, but more people seem to know alot more about Istanbul, as this city is on the borders of Asia and Europe and has a vast amount of history.
The two parts of Turkey are separated by the Bosporus, the sea of the Marmara and the channel of the Dardennelles. The smaller part of European Turkey is joined to Bulgaria and Greece. Where as the larger part of Turkey is in the Asia Minor and is known as Anatolia.
This part of Turkey has Black sea at the north, on the east side there is Armenia, Georgia and Iran and to the south is Iraq and Syria. Finally the coasts are on the Aegean and Mediterranean seas.
Turkey is a very hot place in the summer months, but can also be a very cold place in the winter. This country is made up of rugged mountains, forest, lakes and arid deserts.
To learn more about Turkey please refer to Wikipedia at the bottom of this post. Below are a mixture of Satellite images, photo’s and videos.
