The Ibiza Island, the night club capital

By Mark on July 27, 2008

Ibiza, also known as Eivissa is the third largest of the Spanish Balearic Islands in the mediterranean sea, just off the east coast of mainland Spain, and surrounded by her neighbours Formentera and Majorca. The island is a very popular place for British tourists and with beautiful sandy beaches, shops, hotels, fun parks, pubs and clubs, the island is an excellent place for getting away and enjoying the sun. Also plenty of watersports on the island, historic views and and lots of beautiful sceneary. It’s capital city Ibiza(Eivissa), is a port and and a major tourist resort in the south-east of the island. Even though it is a Spanish island English is widely spoken and there are lots of English bars, pubs and restaurants to enjoy, if concerned about the language barrier.

The island of Ibiza is considered a popular tourist destination, the nightlife is centered around two areas: Ibiza Town, the island’s capital on the southern shore and Sant Antoni to the West. Other nightclubs include Privilege, Eden, Es Paradís, Amnesia, Space, Pacha, and DC10. During the summer, well-known DJs perform at the various clubs on weekly. The season traditionally begins at the start of June with Space and DC10’s opening parties and finishes on the first weekend of October with the Closing Parties. A typical schedule for clubbers going to Ibiza includes waking at noon, early evening naps, late night clubbing, and “disco sunrises”. Also well-known is Café del Mar, Where the clubbers can watch the DJ’s doing their shows.

The Government of Ibiza is trying to make the island more attractive to families and trying to get the nightclubs to close earlier so that the certain tourists do not see lots of drunken teenagers around the towns causing trouble. And to make the island more cultural and quieter and more relaxing. And getting hotels to become more 5 star and have more entertainment in the hotels.

Do you remember when we all went to Ibiza for a holiday and we spent some of the time in the swimming fun park, with the Kamakazie slide, it was fun and so was the beach. Yes I agree I am trying to make it more fun aswell as serious.

I was pretty young then, Mark. I do remember flies on my sandwiches, though. Oh, and a lady on the plane whose boob popped out of her shirt! That was the first boob I ever remember seeing! :-D
