The Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya.

By Mark on August 22, 2009

This post as been inspired due to the recent events that have been happening in Libya. If you are not sure what I mean, it is about the Libian man who was set free from prison in Scotland due to him suffering quite badly from terminal prostate cancer, he was let out to see his final days with his family in Libya. This man was known as Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi or the Lockerbie bomber. He was released on compassionate grounds as the Britian and Libya are trying to build an economic friendship. But when he arrived in Libya, this man was treated as a celebrity.

Libya is known as the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya and it is a country that is situated in the in North Africa. Her bordering neighbours are the Mediterranean Sea to the north, Egypt to the east, Sudan to the southeast, Chad and Niger to the south, and Algeria and Tunisia to the west. It ataually happens to be the 4th largest country in Africa by area and the
and the 17th largest in the world.

The main city in Libya is Tripoli and it is home to is home to 1.7 million people. The three traditional parts of the country are Tripolitania, the Fezzan, and Cyrenaica. But did you know that the flag of Libya is the only flag in the world that actually only has one colour and that is a green field and nothing else on.

LOL, that’s what the BBC tell you, but I don’t believe that for a moment. Here’s an alternative view: Al-Megrahi is free because the case was so weak.
