By Mark on October 20, 2009

Saudia Arabia’s capital city, Riyadh is the largest of all the cities within Saudi Arabia. As there is also a Riyadh Province which is like a state or county. This cityalso belongs to the historical regions of Nejd and Al-Yamama. You will find Riyah in the center of the Arabian Peninsula on large desert plateau. The latest population for Riyah is 1,444,500 people, and on the urban centre of the region there is a population of around 6 million people. Like some of the other capital cities you will find that there is 15 municipal districts, and they are of course run by senior members and managed by Riyadh Municipality, which is headed by the mayor of Riyadh and of course the Riyadh Development Authority which is chaired by the Governor of Riyadh Province, Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz. But you will then find that Municipality of Riyadh, and her province is divided into 19 governorates muhafazat and 1 sub-governorate markaz. So this city and country is a well represented nation with a strong and sound government and the Royal Family will always be kept informed, much like the British Royal Family are kept updated on British economy and interests.

At this moment in time Riyadh’s current mayor is Abdul Aziz ibn Ayyaf Al Migrin, and he was appointed in 1998.
The modern day city of today is totally different to how it used to be, thanks to the western world providing finanical awards for Saudi’s oil and energy complexis. Riyadh has grown there are more and more well-known western companies moving into Riyadh and Saudi Arabia, aswell as Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, etc etc. Many British people live within these cities.

Let’s see… it’s called Al Hokair Land and is part of the Al Hokair Group, which has over 70 amusement and theme parks in Saudi Arabia. I can’t find many details in English, though.
