Merry Christmas Island
By Nick on December 12, 2008
It’s time to put down my virtual suitcase and wish you all a happy holiday until I set off on more virtual travels in the new year. I’ll be spending Christmas in Japan, and you’re welcome to swing by the JapanSoc Community Blog on Christmas Eve where I’ll be hosting an especially festive edition of the monthly Japan blog carnival.
As for Virtual Tripping, I’ll leave you with this rather interesting island. I think it looks a little like a reindeer, and what could be more appropriate?
This is, after all, Christmas Island!

Excellent post I should have thought of that myself. Christmas Island. It has come around again very quickly. I have enjoyed reading and looking at Christmas Island or Kiribati. But did you know that this country is 14hours ahead of Great Britain. Both the countries of Christmas Island and Hawaii are on exactly the same time but 24 hours apart. So when it is 9am Tuesday in Christmas Island it is 9am Monday in Hawaii.

Is that for real? I didn’t know there was anywhere a full 24 hours apart!

Interesting information Mark about the twenty four hour difference.
You are right Nick. It does look like a reindeer.
Have a good break and i will be looking forward to your posts in the new year.
