Mark’s Vision of St.Peter’s Square, Vatican City.

By Mark on June 8, 2009

Wow, here I am standing in St.Peter’s Square in the Vatican City looking over at where Pope Benedict XVI lives and works.
Wow, I still can not believe this, the crowds are a mass of people from all over the world, so many different languages all being spoken at the same time. This has got to be and will always be an extraordinary day, as we visited the capital of the Roman Catholic religion. I am not a religous person, but it was overwhelming, magnificent and trurely a remarkable place and experience.
It was very disappointing that we were unable to go into St.Peter’s Basillica, but the crowds were to many.
I can still remember that day as if it was yesterday, it was very hot tempretures well into the 30 degrees celsius, 86 degrees fahrenheit. We all kept wanting to keep within the shade. When we visited the museum, we had to get our luggage scanned as if we were going on a flight.
Myself, Emma and our friends all enjoyed the experience especially watching some of them tuck into a roast pork sandwich, in a local sandwich shop just outside the city walls, which they enjoyed.

I know it was busy, but i tell you what bro it was amazing and I enjoyed every minute of the experience. I have never heard so many different languages, but it was also strange because there was a calm around no one seemed anxious or rushing they were just enjoying the St.Peter’s Square. It was brill.
