Live Weather Reports in Google Earth

By Nick on August 23, 2008

Here’s a great feature of Google Earth I didn’t know about. Under “Layers” in the sidebar, there’s an option for Weather. Enabling that option covers the globe in clouds and little thermometers that show you what the weather is like right now!

Clouds stealthily avoid the Beijing Olympics

A rainy weekend in Japan

Sizzling temperatures in Saudi Arabia

The weather information is pulled in every 15 minutes from Weather.com, and the clouds update hourly with the latest data from the Naval Research Laboratory in Monterey.
