Lets visit Sir Cliff Richards Winery or Vineyard in Guia, Albufeira, Faro District, the Algarve, Portugal, Europe.

Guia is a Portuguese parish, a population of 3,630 (2001) and an area of 18.45 km². It is approximately 5km from the coast. The nearest beaches are Laurenco and Gale. It is famous for its numerous piri-piri restaurants. Here are some of the best well-known places to eat in Guia they include: Albertos, Atlantico, Casa Bitoque, Ideal and Palladium, but you will find many other places to eat and drink. If you ever get time to visit this village, the Church is worth a visit. Sir Cliff Richard has a villa and vineyard just outside the village. There is plenty for the holiday-maker, with hotels, self catering villas and apartments, marvelous beaches 10 minute drive away, Algarve Shopping Area, Zoomarine and the various golf courses along the coast. You can also easily head inland for a taste of the real Portugal.

So Guia in Albufeira is the home of the British rock singer Sir Cliff Richard, he lives in a 6 bedroom £5m farmhouse and vineyard in Albufeira, Portugal and has been there since 1996, it is also a Portuguese city and a municipality in the district of Faro, Algarve region,
The name of this city is actually an Arabic name and is known as al-Buħayra in English it means the “Lagoon” The population of Albufeira is 13,646. The municipality has a population of 35,281 inhabitants and a total area of 140.6 km². But in the Summer months and also around Christmas and New Year in the Christian Calander, the population will expands to an estimated 300,000 and this makes the city of Albufeira one of the leading tourist resorts of the region.
So what does this city have to offer, well you will find many attractions like, Facilities include a marina, golf courses plus innumerable hotels, apartment blocks, restaurants and bars for the annual flood of visitors and of course seeing Sir Cliff Richards home from a distance.
So what do I know about this Winery, well Sir Cliff Richard owns a Quinta,(estate, villa, farm, farmstead, quint, steading), in the Algarve, Portugal, this is where he his producing wines for himself, Portugal and the rest of the world, this production is at the Adega do Cantor (“Winery of the Singer”), a state-of-the-art winery in Guia, near Albufeira. In 2006, Cliff Richard received Portugal’s equivalent of a knighthood in recognition of his 40 years of personal and business involvement in that country.

Thanks so much for the article. Sir Cliff really loves Portugal! He first came to Portugal in 1961 and he bought his first house in Albufeira. The house was in that street that was named by him (and you have the picture- Rua Sir Cliff Richard Cantor, meaning Street Sir Cliff Richard Singer). I´m sorry that the picture you have is not from Sir Cliff´s house – I can send you pictures of his home and Winery “Adega do Cantor”, if you want just let me know. You can visit the website of his Winery – it´s in many languages:)
