Welcome to a post about some famous areas in the Olympic Peninsula and the Olympic National Park, Pacific Northwest region of the United States. The Olympic Peninsula happens to be a very large area of land which is situated in the western Washington state and is near Seattle. This area is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, the Strait of Juan de Fuca,
Puget Sound and Hood Canal. There are two other areas that are also included in the Olympic Peninsula, they are Cape Alava in the west and Cape Flattery in the north-west.

The Olympic National Park will be found in the Olympic Peninsula. This amazing park happens to be joined together by three particular parts of this region they are, the Pacific coastline, the Olympic Mountains, and the temperate rainforest.
It was created back in 1909, when the then American President Theodore Roosevelt created Olympic National Monument.
But it was not until 1938, when the then American President Franklin Roosevelt signed a legislation for National Park Status and voted for by the American Government.
Over the years this Park has become recognised as an International Biosphere Reserve, a World Heritage Site and Olympic Wilderness and this means there is more protection of this area, than ever before.
