This is a post about the Kingdom of Bahrain, it is officially know as this and not just Bahrain in Arabic: مملكة البحرين‎, Mamlakat al-Baḥrayn, which literally means the “Kingdom of the Two Seas”, it is a small island country located within the Persian Gulf and is at present being ruled by the Al Khalifa royal family.

You have a large island, which is known as Bahrain Island, but island is surrounded by thirty-three other islands within the Kingdom of Bahrain. Even though this country is an island , it is actually been connected to her neighbouring country known as Saudi Arabia, this is via the King Fahd Causeway, which was officially opened on 25 November 1986. Towards the southeast of Bahrain is the Arab country of Qatar. I am not sure myself, but there are plans to build a QatarBahrain Causeway which would become the longest fixed link in the world.

The reason why Bahrain as become so wealthy is because it is known for it’s oil and also for it’s pearls. I have noticed that in countries like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, that they like to build amazing looking structures, for example in Bahrain you have the well known building’s of the Bahrain World Trade Center and the Bahrain Financial Harbour, and you will also find it is the main place for skyscrapers, including the proposed 1,022 m (3,353 ft) high supertall Murjan Tower. Finally for all you Grand Prix fans this is where you will find the Bahrain International Circuit, this is where the popular Bahrain F1 Grand Prix takes place.
