Africa’s golden jewel South Africa.
By Mark on March 18, 2009
This is a post about the country of South Africa. It is a large country with three capital cities, they are Pretoria (executive), Cape Town (legislative) and Bloemfontein (judical). Also the largest city in the country is Johannesburg that was estimated at 3,888,180 about two years ago in 2007.
South Africa borders the countries of Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland and Zimbabwe in the north and towrads the east it borders Lesotho, Mozambique and Swaziland. Lesotho is a small country within South Africa and it is surrounded by the Orange State.
The climate varies quite alot in the way that towards the south of the country there can be dry summers, as in the east coast it can have hot and wet summers and up towards the north you can have winter frosts on higher ground, depending on the altitude.
Most of the land is plateau which can be covered by either grasslands or bushes. There are two main rivers that flow through the country they are the Limpopo and Orange rivers. Because of the size of South Africa the coastlines are either on the Atlantic or Indian Oceans.
The economy within this country is mixed as it has the largest economy in Africa there is a mixture of Good and bad successes. Although you will find that wealth is spreaded unevenly ad that unemployment does often seem to rise. A good third of the population do actually work and most go down the agricultural way including different types of crops, fruits, livestock, maize, wines and wools etc.
There is alot to learn about South Africa and her mighty history, you can learn more by refering to Wikipedia.
